OPS... THEY DIDN'T CATCH ME

Two months ago I submitted an application for one of the most prestigious fashion awards in existence, if not THE most prestigious: the LVMH Prize

It all happened a bit randomly: I was reading the Fashion Network news, when I came across an article announcing that applications were open.

I said to myself "come on, why not", it didn't cost anything to try (literally, applying is free) so I immediately started working on my application.

Filling it out was very interesting and answering all the questions in the questionnaire helped me to achieve three fundamental things:

> This award is waa ...

> I am not in the least ready to sustain the pressures that all this would entail.

> I've realized that the more I focus, the more I realize how far away, yet defined, my goal is.

I'd be lying if I said there wasn't a part of me that was hoping for the miracle of being called. The first few days I would jump every time I got an email, after the first week I started to relax and then I forgot about it completely... until today.

Guess how I found out I wasn't chosen... Reading the Fashion Network news 😂 I was clearing out some backlogged emails when I came across this article .

YEP,

I didn't do it.

But the real gem is something else: one of the 20 semi-finalists selected from all over the world - Kid Super - is one of the designers who work with REP , the New York showroom where I did my first real internship.

I like to think that things like this are clues and little reminders that I'm on the right path. That I shouldn't get discouraged because everything happens when it's supposed to.

So if life is a climb and the view is wonderful, I know that the journey will determine the measure of my success: only when I feel I have given my all will I be able to turn around and admire the view.

For now I'll keep walking ;)

With much love,
Bi>
